8/20/2019 K98k With Whte Bolt
The 98k was the most common firearm of Germany during WWII. It was used by all branches of the German military, in all theaters on all fronts, from the start of the war to the very end. It was in production for all of WWII and a total of 14.6 million were built. After Germany's.
The bolt came stripped to the white metal, which is a modification MM made after importing this USSR capture rifle.
Now I got the rifle a couple months back for $400 and it's in good shape, but I just don't like the bolt sticking out as silver against the black. German bolts were blued. Knowing that MMs are already seen as crappy force-matched rifles with much of the collectability ruined, should I avoid cold bluing the bolt to look closer to the rest of the metal? I may not ever sell this rifle, but what if I do? What say you?
